About Freedom to Rise

Freedom to Rise was created to support women veterans at moments when life feels heavy, uncertain, or quietly overwhelming, often long before crisis is visible. Women veterans serve in every branch, role, and capacity, yet many face unique challenges after service that are too often met with gaps in care, isolation, or delayed support. We exist to change that.

Our work is grounded in a simple belief: early, dignity-centered support can alter the course of a life. When women veterans are given space, resources, and respect before they reach a breaking point, they are better able to heal, reconnect, and move forward with confidence.

Our three core initiatives reflect this approach.

Gear Up, Girl! provides choice-based support through gift cards and in-kind gear, allowing individuals to select what they need most. Whether clothing, essentials, or practical resources, this program restores dignity by placing choice back in the hands of the person receiving support.

Healing at Ease offers access to sponsored online therapy sessions, removing common barriers to mental health care. By supporting wellbeing, confidence, and emotional stability, this program helps participants navigate healing, reintegration, and life transitions with professional support.

Room to Rise creates short restorative stays that offer intentional space for rest, care, and reconnection. These stays are designed to strengthen wellbeing and stability before crisis, providing an environment where women veterans can pause, reset, and regain footing during demanding seasons of life.

Together, these programs reflect our commitment to early support rather than crisis response, respect over urgency, and care that honors the whole person.

Freedom to Rise serves women veterans of all service backgrounds, including active duty, reserve, and National Guard service. We recognize that every experience of service is valid and deserving of care. No one needs to justify their service or compare their experience to be worthy of support.

Our focus is on offering support as a meaningful thank you for your service.

Who We Serve

We are a growing nonprofit organization. Our pilot programs are intentionally designed to be scalable, sustainable, and measurable, allowing us to expand responsibly while maintaining the integrity of our mission. We partner with donors, funders, and community supporters who share our belief that prevention is powerful and that investing early leads to stronger outcomes for individuals and communities alike.

At its core, Freedom to Rise is about creating space. Space to breathe, to heal, to regain confidence, and to imagine what comes next. When women veterans are supported with dignity and care, they do more than recover. They rise.
